Police Use The Books We Provide To Help Kids In Traumatic Situations
Julian donates books to the Blacksburg Police Station on a periodic basis, to help ensure their officers have enough books.
The police will use the books when they go on calls, such as domestic violence calls in which kids are in crisis situations. The books help the kids calm down and minimize the lasting impact that the crises will have on them. This is also helpful, as the books distract the kids, while the officers work to de-escalate the situations.

Julian believes it's important to get kids turned on to reading from a young age. He wants kids to love books as much as he does.
